At Great Corby School we have decided to follow the National Curriculum. A full copy can be accessed here.
We teach the curriculum subjects in a variety of ways. This includes: specific subject teaching, cross-curricular lessons, theme days/weeks, trips. Our classes are currently organised as follows: EYFS (nursery and reception), Class 1 (year 1 and year 2), Class 2 (year 3 and year 4) and Class 3 (year 5 and year 6). Work is planned at appropriate levels for individual children. At the start of each term parents are given details of the main areas their child will be covering.
If you would like any more information about the curriculum we follow, please speak to your child’s teacher or contact the school office.
Our phonics scheme is Letters and Sounds.
We follow the Cumbria Agreed Syllabus and our assemblies are held in accordance with the 1993 Education Act. Any parent who does not wish their child to be instructed in Religious Education or to take part in school assemblies may withdraw them from these parts of the curriculum.
